A native of Solkan, Slovenia, Jure Poberaj moved to the United States at the age of six when his father, Silvan Poberaj, accepted the position of U.S. National Whitewater Kayak Team Coach. Now, at 18, Jure has been a two-time member of the U.S. Junior National Kayak Team. In July of 2006, he raced fot the U.S. in his home town of Solkan to finish 6th at the Junior World Championships.
Jure graduated from Walt Whitman High in Bethesda, Maryland in 2006, where he began his passion for photography. He has been taking courses in photography for five years and has won a number of County and State awards for his photographs. Jure is currently a full-time student living in Cabin John Maryland. |
